About me
I am an Associate Professor of Global Health and Sociology at Duke University, where I also serve as the Research Director for the Clergy Health Collaborative. My research is focused on understanding how North America is changing religiously and the implications of change for religious congregations and those who lead them. I am an expert on the health of religious clergy, the changing role of churches in North American society, and the implications of these trends for ministers' professional training. I am Principal Investigator of the Seminary to Early Ministry Study, a multi-year, multi-cohort study seeking to understand how seminary impacts the health, occupational well-being, theology, and career trajectories of students.
